Meal Prep: Overnight Oats
Overnight Oats are a great meal prep option for a quick, easy and delicious breakfast. For many of us, eating a healthy and hearty breakfast plays an important role in avoiding overeating throughout the day. If you find yourself skipping breakfast (or driving through the fast food line first thing in the morning), give this easy breakfast a try.
1/2 cup Rolled Oats
1 tbsp Seeds (I use pre-prepped mix of flax seeds, chia seeds and pumpkin seeds)
1 tbsp Hemp Hearts
1 cup Unsweetened Nut Milk
1 tbsp Maple Syrup
Dash of Cinnamon
1. Add oats, seeds and hemp hearts to a small container.
2. Top with nut milk and mix (you can use more or less nut milk depending on the type of texture you prefer for your oatmeal, but I recommend using enough to cover the oats as a minimum).
3. Add maple syrup and a dash of cinnamon. Refrigerate overnight.
4. To serve, eat cold or heat up in the microwave for 60 seconds. Top with chopped fruit for an added nutrient and flavour boost!
